her story at a glance

her story at a glance

01 · BEFORE

Years focused on her career and friendships, and a girls trip to Japan that never quite came together.

02 · THE TRIP

Japan at 26, then Costa Rica and Rio Carnival. Fushimi Inari, horseback riding in Monteverde and the samba parades.

03 · AFTER

More confident every time she comes home, and a little more tempted to travel full time.

Who she is

Caroline is 28 and lives in San Diego. She first travelled with us to Japan at 26, and in the past year she has joined us in Costa Rica and at Rio Carnival too.

Going in

Nothing dramatic pushed her to book. After a few years focused on building her career and her friendships, she realised she wanted to be properly in her travel girl era. She had been trying to get friends together for a girls trip to Japan and it never quite stuck. Then a post came up on Instagram at the perfect time and she booked without thinking twice.

Her nerves were practical ones, navigating public transport and ordering breakfast in a language she does not speak. Every guide she has had has been kind and generous with tips and suggestions, happy to take the group places and help them communicate wherever they went.

The trips

Wandering Fushimi Inari, horseback riding through the countryside in Monteverde, watching the samba parades at Carnival in sparkly outfits, and thousands of photos waiting in the shared album afterwards.

What changed

Each time she comes home she feels more confident in herself, and a little more tempted to quit her job and travel full time.

Having done group trips with other companies before, what stands out to her about us is the women.

“All the girls go out of their way to hype each other up, share anything someone may have forgotten, and just make sure everyone is happy and safe at all times even though we are basically all strangers.”

Bucket list moments, shared

The moments she comes back to are the bucket list ones, shared.

“My favorite moments are getting to experience bucket list activities with all the girls for the first time and never having to worry about asking a stranger to capture it with a picture for you.”

To the woman who has been watching and putting it off:

“It’s actually going to be the best time ever!! Just don’t think about it a second more, go online and book it. You will get to be so excited and I promise you will not regret it.”
